"'Truth is strange," you know, "stranger than fiction' - besides being more to the point" - Edgar Allan Poe

Sabnis is a geek!

IIPM petpeeve Gaurav Sabnis jumps onto the comics bandwagon! It's hilarious reading this guy's post. I can almost imagine him going "OMG, d00d, that comix is TEH UBER-KOOL! I mean like, Sandman, nd SinCity, and now I HAVE to read Preacher! WOWWWIE ZOWWIE". It's quite nice to hear people suddenly discovering graphic novels and exclaiming "Gaiman, w00t! Miller, w00t! Ennis, w00t!"

Hehe. Gaurav, I know exactly what you mean. Maybe you should consider giving beatzo a call after all. He's the only guy I know with a 3-digit GB collection of comics. He's also DESPERATE to show off his collection to new people, since all his older friends (including myself) are now just pissed with him and are planning on raping his happiness.

I left the link for the font on your blog. That site has hajar other cool fonts, check them out.

Any software works man, the best is actually hand drawn. Trust me, the software is the least of your problems. That being said, the best is actually AdobeIllustrator (which I don't use). I use PS and Macromedia fireworks. I've also heard a lot about Manga Studio, but never seen it myself.

And no, yahoo's a resource hog on my laptop. Gtalk :D

*sheepish look* Yes I have been transformed into a wide eyed geek, having discovered the novels a bit too late. Heh!

And I did turn every shade of green when Chetri put up those pics of his collection. How do I get in on this loot beatzo thing? I can bring a crowbar.

Aaaaaahhhh!!!

Aaaaaaah!!!

Gaurav Sabnis is on my blog!!!

Aaaaaaah!!!

Ahem. Right. So anyway, beatzo's currently in a very good mood, so all you have to do is visit him, buy him some random chicken dish, make the appropriate noises when he shows off his collection (somewhere along the lines of "Ooh!" and "aah!" and "Wow, it's so huge!"; despite the sexual innuendo). He will promptly break out into smiles and burn you dvds and promise you more.

Or you could knock on his door, knock him out with the crowbar and run away with as much stash as you can stuff into your back. We'll just call this plan B.

PS- Welcome to geekworld. It's a fun place to be. For all the fun we poke at beatzo, he's still cool. Strongly suggest you read stuff he recommends. Very awesome picks, the an knows his shit in and out.
Unless of course, he recommends manga. Then you can just shoot yourself and hope to die quickly.

I was always in the geekworld. Just hadn;t been introduced to graphic novels.

Beatzo is very cool. He is, and has been for almost 3 years, my favourite quizmaster. And come to think of it, I burnt a lot off stuff off the LAN for him when he visited IIML a few years back. So he does owe me some largesse. Yes, I shall extract my pound of flesh shortly.

But that collection of books he so brazenly touted on his lj makes me feel very communist all of a sudden. The means of entertainment are in the possession of a select few and a revolution is imminent to distribute them more equitably. Lal Salaam!

Sounds like a plan. I foresee some entertainment in the near future :)
